I have worked with David Spencer for eight years on the Orem City Council. David always attends meetings prepared with ideas how we can make Orem a better place to live for our citizens. David will go the extra mile to discuss concerns from Orem citizens and communicate with all involved parties for a solution. I would encourage you to cast your vote for continued strong leadership on the Orem City Council. I'll be voting for David Spencer.
- Councilman Brent Sumner
David Spencer is a champion for Orem residents and neighborhoods! Orem needs David's experience and leadership on the council. He knows how to work with the staff and make good things happen for the residents. He truly listens and stands up for the citizens of Orem. David has been instrumental in helping my neighborhood change the disastrous zoning of the State Street Master Plan which allows a 70 foot tall high density housing unit to be built 70 feet from homes. He was one of the key council members who advocated for compensation reform for our police and fire which has once again made Orem the place to work. As a member of the City Council, David Spencer will continue to lead out and secure positive results on the issues that Orem residents care about. Orem needs David Spencer on the Orem City Council. Please vote for David, we will be!

I will be voting for David Spencer in this election. We have been neighbors for over 30 years and I have always known David to be a thoughtful and considerate person. I’ve seen David selflessly helping families in our neighborhood with car projects, yard fixups, barbeques and countless other projects during all those years. I’ve always appreciated his follow through on every project we’ve worked on together. He represents the conservative, hard working values that I want representing Orem for years to come.
- Bill Bodine
We strongly support David Spencer’s retention as an Orem City Councilman. Our numerous interactions with him have shown us that he is a highly effective leader and councilman. He is completely engaged with the citizens of Orem as he seeks their input and listens to their concerns. He is a clear thinker and carefully weighs alternate considerations before making a final decision. He doesn’t succumb to pressure from those who are motivated by self-interest at the expense of others. His considerable experience and grasp of the issues that the city of Orem is currently facing are of significant value to the residents. We chose Orem forty-six years ago to raise our family of seven children because of Orem’s family friendly values. That legacy can be maintained with supportive leaders such as David Spencer to deal fairly with the challenges of growth and change. Voting for David Spencer is a wise choice that will help keep Orem City a highly desirable place to live.

Some of you know me and some don’t know me I have owned an automotive business in Orem since 1986 I have thousands of customers and I love and appreciate all of them. When Orem city repaved state street in concrete they changed the elevation and lowered state street 2 and ¾ feet this made it harder for my customers to see when they are pulling out of my business on to state street a few years later we had a new business move in and start parking their lifted trucks in front of our business. We started to have accidents leaving our business one of my friends ended up in the hospital with a swollen brain.
After that accident, I went to the Orem city mayor and a council member with no help so I worked hard to find new council members with more common sense and in the last election, Jeff and Terry were added to the council both great guys, when I called Jeff and asked him if he could help me with my problem he gave me Dave Spencer’s name and number and said he would be the one to get things done. I did not know Dave so I called him and had a talk with him and he said he would look into my problem. 2 weeks go by and no Dave then I have a person parking in my parking lot and just setting their 2 different days the second day I was on my way out of the building to find out what he was doing turns out it was Dave he had been watching what I was complaining about and on our way to go inside and talk we witnessed a near accident the tires squealing horns honking it was a good day for him to come by.
The next day Dave had a meeting with the other council members and then took this problem to the State of Utah and they put up no parking signs and now my customers are safe thanks to Dave The stress is gone and Dave showed me what a good city council member can do to make the city better and safer hope you will all join me and vote for Dave in the coming election He is a good common sense man wish we had more like him.
- Todd Plots, Orem Business Owner
Orem needs a Council member that is not only good on the budget but also has a big heart like David Spencer. David has a big heart for our kids and seniors and works diligently to keep fees down for sports programs and taxes low for those on fixed incomes.

I am voting for David Spencer. I am grateful for his service as a member of the Orem City Council. He takes the time to listen as he studies the issues and forms policy that is key to our quality of life in the City of Orem. He is a wise fiscal steward and guardian of the United States Constitution as well as the Constitution of the State of Utah.

Orem and Lindon cities share common interests and interlocal agreements that are important to our communities’ quality of life. David Spencer is an active champion for Orem but also a fantastic collaborator who gets to the heart of the matter and stands on the principles of fiscal responsibility, neighborhood safety and integrity, and long-range vision. It is easy to talk about goals, but it is harder to do the work. David is a doer who makes things happen for the better and doesn’t shrink from helping solve tough issues.
- Carolyn Lundberg
Lindon City Council
My name is Skip McWhorter, and I have lived and worked in Orem for the past 20+ years! I first met David Spencer when I was coaching my son’s team in little league baseball, and he was a member of the Board of Directors for Orem Youth Baseball. He was at the ballpark nearly every night, making sure things went smooth, often stepping in to coach when needed, and primarily focused on the kids having a great experience. Over the next several years we served on the board together, further working to improve the program, expanding to include more aspiring ball players, and working closely with the city to improve the city facilities.
When David became an Orem City Councilman, he had to step down from his board position with OYB, but did not give up on his passion for the youth of Orem City! He has continually pushed for more programs to enrich the lives of our youth. David is relentless in his pursuit of worthwhile opportunities for our youth and for our community! I fully support David Spencer as an Orem City Councilman, and encourage you to do the same!
- Skip McWhorter, Orem City Resident
Dave Spencer is a true friend to Orem’s neighborhoods. He is tenacious in educating himself about problems facing our neighborhoods and in defending our beliefs in public forums. Dave understands the balance that should be maintained between existing neighborhoods, needed amenities, local jobs and development. He is committed to making sure the proper balance is met and that Orem keeps its unique identity as a family-friendly, work-available, and highly satisfying place to live.
- John and Jill Barrick
David Spencer has been a great advocate for the Cherry Hill neighborhood. He believes in the positive influence a neighborhood adds to a community, and understands what it takes to ensure zoning laws are enforced to maintain that integrity. David has always taken time to listen and understand issues that matter in our community. I appreciate his dedication and service to our city these past seven years, and I believe he will continue to be a great leader to the citizens of Orem.
